From the Ballet series, this coffee cup, saucer and dessert plate set is made of thin-walled bone china at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg. The Ballet Scheherazade pattern is applied as an overglaze decal with gold trim, and the cup is finished with a smooth glazed rim.
The cup, in the May shape, holds 165 ml and stands 7.7 cm tall; the saucer measures 12.1 cm across. Volume is measured to the brim, so the practical capacity is roughly 10–15% less. Bone china has a naturally milky tone, which may look slightly different on screen.
Pattern by Lyubov Tsvetkova (born 1962), a porcelain painter and sculptor at the Imperial Porcelain Factory since 1994. Shape by Eduard Krimmer (1900–1974), an Honored Artist of the RSFSR and a student of Kazimir Malevich; his May cup was the first shape cast in bone china.
To keep the gold bright, wash by hand with a liquid detergent and a soft sponge. The set is not dishwasher safe and should not be used in a microwave.
