Cast by hand from hard-paste porcelain at the Imperial Porcelain Factory, this cake dish pairs the Tulip shape with the Cobalt Net pattern. The net is applied as an underglaze decal and accented with gold painting. The piece has been made since 1951.
It measures 21.5 cm in diameter and stands 4.8 cm high. Not dishwasher safe.
Pattern by Anna Yatskevich, a porcelain painter at the factory from 1932 to 1952, whose work is held by the Hermitage, the Russian Museum and the Kuskovo Estate. Shape by Serafima Yakovleva, who designed the Tulip shape in 1936; she received a Gold Medal at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair for her set shapes and a silver medal at the 1962 International Ceramics Exhibition in Prague.
